RR Psalm 33:17,18,19 Part 9

Rabbi’s Reflections - Wednesday, July 30, 2025
Shalom,

Psalm 33:17 A horse is a false hope for victory, nor can its great strength save. 18 Behold, the eyes of Adonai are on those who fear Him, waiting for His love, 19 to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

Your horse cannot save you!  Does the Scripture really need to tell us that?  Psalm 20:8(7) Some have chariots, some have horses, but we remember the Name of Adonai our God.  Who is our real “hope for victory?”  There can only be one (at a time) seated on the throne of your heart.  Will it be your horse, that you ride into battle, or will it be someone else, or something else?  We have to answer that question every day.  Psalm 31:25(24) Chazak! Let your heart take courage, all you who wait for Adonai.

The Lord is watching for you.  2Chronicles 16:9a For the eyes of Adonai range through out the earth to strengthen those whose hearts keep covenant with Him.  He wants to deliver you from certain destruction.  Psalm 34:5(4) I sought Adonai, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.  God has promised to save you from the traps of the enemy.  Psalm 91:2 I will say of Adonai, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. 3 For He will rescue you from the hunter’s trap and from the deadly pestilence.

Yes, God will deliver your soul from death into eternal life in His presence.  1John 2:25 Now this is the promise that He Himself has promised us—eternal life.  God loves you with an everlasting love.  Jeremiah 31:3 “From afar Adonai appeared to me.” “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”

Let me bring this to a close for today with a question.  Is deliverance going to come from some other person?  I think you already know the answer.  Now act on that knowledge and make your faith your reality.
Psalm 103:1 Of David. Bless Adonai, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy Name. 2 Bless Adonai, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: 3 He forgives all your iniquity. He heals all your diseases. 4 He redeems your life from the Pit. He crowns you with lovingkindness and compassions. 5 He satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like an eagle.

Shalom shalom.
