RR Psalm 45:14-16(13-15) Part 11

Shalom,

Rabbi Trail:  As you can see below, today is the 15th day of the Hebrew month Shvat, a day marked on the Hebrew calendar as the birthday for the trees.  In Hebrew, the letters are also the numbers.  The first letter, Aleph, is also the number one, etc.  The 9th letter is “Tet” and the sixth letter is “Vav,” which is also pronounced with an “oo” sound.   Together they add up to 15.  So we say “Tu” to express the number 15.  We avoid using the “Yud” (10) and “Hey” (5) because together they form God’s name, “Yah.”  So by saying “Tu” and not “Yah,” we avoid taking the Lord’s name in vain.  End RT.

Psalm 45:14 All glorious is the king’s daughter within the palace—her gown is interwoven with gold. 15 She will be led to the king in embroidered garments. Her virgins, her companions following her, are coming in to you. 16 They are led in with joy and gladness—they enter into the palace of the king.

What is the image alluded to by the poet?  The story continues from verse 11b Forget your people and your father’s house.  This queen has left her people (where she was born and raised), and is now entering the presence (and at the pleasure) of the King.  That’s us!  You and me, as “born again” followers of the King (Yeshua) have left “Adam’s house” and entered the “King’s” (God’s, creator of the universe) palace.  And better than that, we are described as “glorious.”

Isaiah prophesied this exact thing… Isaiah 62:3  You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Adonai, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. 4 No longer will you be termed “Forsaken”, no longer your land termed “Desolate”. Instead you will be called, “My Delight is in Her” and your land, “Married”. For Adonai delights in you, and your land will be married.

Also, John saw it too… Revelation 19:7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready, 8 She was given fine linen to wear, bright and clean! For the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the kedoshim.”

The white garments denote righteousness and the golden garments denote glory.  Both the queen and her companions are described as “S’mi’chot V’Gil,” translated as “joy and gladness.”  And why not, everyone is (both the bride and her companions are) brought as virgins to the King.  This is both the saved remnant of Israel and the saved of the nations, “Kulanu K’Echad,” “together as one.”  Oh happy day!

Zechariah saw it and prophesied accurately (read all of Zechariah 14 to get the full story)… Zechariah 14:9 Adonai will then be King over all the earth. In that day Adonai will be Echad and His Name Echad.  A happy day indeed.  Shalom shalom.
