RR Psalm 32:10 Part 11

Shalom,

Psalm 32:10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but lovingkindness surrounds the one who trusts in Adonai.

This verse features a pair of contrasts.  There are the wicked contrasted with those who trust in Yehovah(YHVH), translated “Adonai” in the TLV (Tree of Life Version).

Rabbi Trail:  The “Tree of Life Version” is quoted exclusively by permission without citation in these Rabbi’s Reflections unless otherwise noted.  https://tlvbiblesociety.org/products/tree-of-life-family-bible-tlv  You can learn more about this uniquely Messianic translation here… https://tlvbiblesociety.org/pages/our-translation .  End RT.

The destiny of the wicked is contrasted with the destiny of those who trust Adonai.  In Hebrew, the destiny of the wicked is “Mak’o’vim,” from “K’a’av” (Kaf-Aleph-Bet) meaning pain, hurt, affliction and ache (“K’ev Rosh” is a “headache”).  How would you like for your inheritance to be a headache?  Not so for the non-wicked, described in Hebrew as those who trust in God.  Their inheritance is “Chesed,” otherwise known as the lovingkindness of God.  The wise choice is obvious.

Ephesians 2:1 You were dead in your trespasses and sins. 2 At that time, you walked in the way of this world, in conformity to the ruler of the domain of the air—the ruler of the spirit who is now operating in the sons of disobedience.

Skipping down to the start of verse 4, there are two words that have changed our lives for all eternity… “BUT GOD”… Ephesians 2:4 But God was rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.  How has God poured out His love for us?  John 3:16  “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

So, my friends, what will you have, eternal headache or eternal loving blessing in fellowship with the one true and living God?  The choice is all yours.  Choose wisely.  Shalom shalom.
